Normally at the end of the year Sassind will reflect on the year that was. But, like all of you, we're pretty ready to shut the book on it and move on. So in the spirit of looking forward, here are Sassind's team goals for 2021.
"My biggest takeaway from 2020 is how good it felt to slow down, so my goal for 2021 is to embrace a slower lifestyle, prioritise what is really important, and say a simple 'no' to anything that does not fit in with this philosophy. In slowing down we have come up with some very exciting ideas for Sassind, and we'll be sharing them with you very soon."
"Heading into 2021 a major goal of mine is to streamline daily tasks in order to achieve a good work-life balance. It might sound simple, but since we welcomed our son in August 2019 I've learned that organisation is key. Life is busy with a one-year-old and I want to slow down what I have some control over. And I'm not sure if this is a 'goal' as such, but I'm also very much hoping to spend more time with family in 2021. The last year has seen us separated, and I hope there can be less physical distance between us going forward."
"Life is short and wasn’t meant to be stuck inside chasing dollars. I’ve always thought there was more... in high school I remember being frustrated at the thought of spending my childhood in school, then my adolescence in university and my adulthood at work. Humans are not cogs in a system. Humans created these rules, but you can choose to break them. I spent the first week of the new year working 60 hours. While lucrative, it left no time for me or my passions. Finally, I got a few hours to escape for an adventure. It was a great reminder that I have the power to change what I don’t like about my life. I make the rules. So, 2021, I will prioritise this. Because life, and living it, is what matters"
