It takes a team to get an amazing collection of images. Everything falls together when the clothes look just right - the lights fall just so, and the model wears the clothes just how you imagined them to be. Just like that first time when you worked with the makers to create the piece in the very beginning.
Campaign shoots are definitely a case of more than meets the eye. The behind the scenes work that goes into this day is a little crazy, a little stressful but thoroughly enjoyable. But with four campaigns under the sassind belt, working on winter 2018 was an absolute pleasure. The team that we have been working with over the past two years has gotten to know our brand so well that everything just falls into place.
The winter 2018 range consists of new cashmere + merino, and the look we were after was a simple country abode that was cosy, comfortable and inviting. We found that in The Estate Trentham, a gorgeously decorated Federation home from the early 1900's. When choosing a location what we are looking for is versatility. Different rooms in the estate and the surrounding areas to shoot in, a variety of textures in which will complement our clothing. Indoor and outdoor.
Tamara, the director of sassind, starts working on shoots months earlier. With the new products in mind, she develops the concept and outfit combinations, scouts locations and schedules the day so everything runs smoothly.
Our Photographer Nikole Ramsey (with assistant Jade) has been with us from the very beginning. Her attention to detail and ability to capture the most amazing light is uncanny.
Our hair + make up artist Kate Radford can work some serious magic, her experience in fashion and we love her ability to make our models look so fresh and natural.
Our model for Winter 2018 is Grace Quely from Vivien's Model Management, a dream to work with, Grace embodied the sassind traveller, the homebody + the dreamer.
Rod is our go-to video guy, floating around in the background taking snippets here and there so we can bring you videos like this.
Vicki + Sharon are our handy helpers. Making lunches, ironing outfits + doing coffee runs to keep the team working and happy. Their delicious soup in the middle of a rainy shoot day was a godsend.
We want you to experience the full business that is sassind, to know where the products come from - to know who is making your clothes + to know who is photographing your clothes. Involving you in our processes so you know that we are passionate about our brand and work hard to keep it to a standard we are proud of.
