As a freelance designer, I came on board with sassind before they were actually sassind.
It was an idea that Tamara came to me with and like most new products, new businesses, new anything - a branded logo was needed. So my first few jobs were creating a logo, pulling together a look and feel that could be applied to the brand's website, social media and related marketing. My background and experiences as a designer are as long as my arm. I have written lifestyle books and created fabric collections, I've worked on websites for record labels to interior designers, developed homewares ranges and social strategies for icy pole makers, designed for babies and illustrated books for tweens - it's diverse, and it's kept me busy. So being involved with sassind from the very beginning has been rewarding in the sense that after four years, I can see the changes, the growth, the customer loyalty and the confidence that a simple piece of clothing can bring to a person.
My work for sassind includes in-house modelling, creating newsletters, daily content for Facebook and Instagram, styling shoots, writing blog posts, and whatever else gets thrown at me! Over the years, my focus has changed, and I am more likely to be found on Instagram these days - keeping the feed full of beautiful images, connecting with customers and sharing their styles and keeping you updated on sassind news. You will find me on stories filling you in product details, showing you how I style my sassind pieces and (hopefully) encouraging you to take a slower approach to fashion and focus on classic styles in quality fabrics.
2020 for sassind has been a struggle, with ranges being pulled due to factories closing (bye-bye 2020 knit collection which was AMAZING) and the creation of new collections being a challenge with the inability to travel and work closely with our factories. But it has also been peppered with beauty. There have been daily comments and messages from customers who love lounging in their sassind, there has been more time spent with my girls as we dance the daily juggle of remote learning and working from home, and there is the fact that things can only get better.
What started as an idea was born into a luxury travel wear label, has morphed it's way into everyday clothing for women, keeping them comfortable and confident. And I am proud to be a part of that.
